Cannibalisation
In an unavoidable circumstance, when a
particular spare of a veh/eqpt/plant is not held in the stock of the
maintaining workshop as well as not available in the local market, then that
particular serviceable spare part removed from a class DEE veh eqpt/plant for
put on road of an off road veh/eqpt/plant on clean exchange bases (the
defective spare part should be fitted on the class DEE veh/eqpt/plant) is
treated as cannibalisation. In fact, cannibalisation is a headache to the
Supply Company. However cannibalisation
is not allowed from any class DEE veh/eqpt/plants. Even though the workshop
authorities compelled to remove spare parts from class DEE veh/ eqpt/ plants.
Whenever cannibalisation is carried out the following
points should be bore in mind:-
1.

A
written request from work shop authority should be obtained as signal or
letter under intimation to BRTF.

2.
|
Check
possibility of cannibalisation from any class DEE veh/eqpt/plant held in
class DEE park.
|
3.
|
If
possibility is there, the written request may get approved from competent
authority of Supply Company.
|
4.
|
Allow
the work shop rep to cannibalisation under observation of unit rep to protect
other parts.
|
5.
|
Make
an entry in this effect in to the cannibalisation register and get signature
of the mechanic of work shop with his name and designation.
|
6.
|
Never
allow to take off the serviceable spare in any cost, if replacement is not
fitted in the class DEE veh/eqpt/plant. (Replacement of serviceable parts only on clean exchange basis)
