ENGINE LIFE IN BRO
Due to one and other reasons the engine assembly want to be replaced for achieve the stipulated laid down life of veh / eqpt/ plants. Life of engine is nothing but a criteria for measure the span of usage in terms of HRs /KMs. The life of engine will increase along with good work men ship and proper maintenance to V/E/Ps.
The engine life will be decreased along with increasing the high altitude due to decreasing of oxygen quantity in air and other parameters. Since the life of engine for plain area and high altitude area above 7000 feet is different as under:-

Remember, the total life of an engine assy is the life of a new engine plus two overhauled engine life.
So in a normal manner, never sentence an Engine to BER (Beyond economical repair) until and unless it should achieved one new eng life and two overhauled life.
