DUTIES
OF MECHANICAL TRANSPORT OFFICER (MTO)
(a)     The unit MTO is the in charge or
administration and maintenance of all unit veh/eqpt/plants. He is responsible
directly to the officer commanding for the cent percent efficiency of the MT
Section of a unit.
(b)     He must at all times be prepared to inform
his OC about the ‘State of Resources and its Readiness’ of the unit and keep
them in a creditable condition.
(c)     He must keep his OC acquainted with the
latest orders and instructions regarding MT and give technical advise him on
the necessity.
(d)     He is responsible for:-

Publication
  Part X and Part XII orders. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(ii) 
 | 
  
   
All
  statistical returns concerning to MT Section. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(iii) 
 | 
  
   
Demanding
  of publications, special tools and POLs. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(iv) 
 | 
  
   
Equipment
  management according to the job. 
 | 
 
(e)     He will see that:-
| 
   
(i)       
 | 
  
   
The
  maintenance task of veh/ eqpt/ plants is properly carried out. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(ii) 
 | 
  
   
A
  chart of periodical oil changes is kept up-to-date for all vehicles on MT
  charge. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(iii) 
 | 
  
   
Inspection
  of units all veh/Eqpt/Plants is properly carried out (by himself) at least
  once in a month. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(iv) 
 | 
  
   
Action
  is taken on remarks on the inspection reports initiated by the work- shop. 
 | 
 
| 
   
(v) 
 | 
  
   
Organize
  training programme to mechanic/ drivers & operators about proper maintenance and
  operation of all new version veh/eqpt/plants which are recently introduced in department. 
 |
