Duties of MT Supvr/JCO



DUTIES OF MT SUPVR/JCO

(a)     The MT Supvr/ JCO is responsible to the MTO for the efficient functioning of all units vehs/qpt/Plants and MT personnel.
(b)     It is his responsibility:-
(i)
To detail driver/Operators for each veh/Eqpt/Plants.
(ii)
To make sure that all driver/operators are proficient in handling the veh/eqpt/plants in their charge.
(iii)
To see that the driver/operator taking over the charge, has properly checked the tools and veh/eqpt/plant before sign the handing taking over note.
(iv)
To ensure that all drivers know how to fill up an accident report form.
(v)
To ensure that the prescribed periodical maintenance has to be completed in due time for all unit veh/eqpt/plants.
(vi)
To ensure that every driver knows and understands the orders for driver/ optr
(vii)
To maintain on a notice board, a list of speed limits for all types of unit vehs and to ensure that all drivers are aware of these.
         
(c)     He is in charge of the MT office and will:-
(i)
Prepare and submit to the MTO all statistical returns concerning the MT.
(ii)
Maintain running ledgers and other records for DVRMT.
(iii)
Ensure that all drivers keep their car diary /duty slip/ log sheet complete and up-to-dated.
(iv
Ensure that the Civil driving licences of all drivers are up-to- date and renewed when due.
                  
(d)     When logging out drivers, the MTSUPVR/JCO will see that:-
(i)
The “Time out” should be noted correctly before the start of any detail and watch arrival at destination.
(ii)
The milometer reading is properly and correctly entered on duty slip before the start of the first detail every day.
(iii)
Every driver is in possession of drivers licence, veh duty slip and accident report form.
(iv)
The driver knows his destination and shortest route thereto.
(v)
The drivers carry and special passes required by local administration.
         
(e)     On return of driver from a detail, he will:-
(i)
Ensure that the duty slip is taken off from the driver immediately.
(ii)
Ensure that the Milometer reading recorded in the duty slip after each detail.
(iii)
Fuel tank to be filled with fuel to its full capacity as BR Regulation and duty slip accounted for.
                  
(f)      He will detail:-
         
(i)
A veh with recovery crew to deal with accidents and if required, call recovery veh from wksp.
(ii)
A duty driver for the day and submit to name to the main office for publication in Part I orders.

(g)     He will:-
(i)
See that daily maintenance is carried out by drivers and the proper entries made in IAFZ-2245(Log book).
(ii)
See that the “Maintenance TASK” for the day is performed and he present when it is carried out.
(iii)
Investigate any defects reported by drivers and send the veh to WKSP for repair.
(iv)
See that the vehs are properly laid out for inspection by the MTO.
(v)
See that the vehs are always clean and are washed down as necessary before being sent out on detail.
(vi)
See that drivers carry out maintenance during halt period.
         
(h)     He will prepare the leave roster for all drivers and after the MTO’s approval submit it to the main office.
 (j)     Before a driver proceeds on leave, or on posting, the MTSUPVR/JCO will check the tools on his charge, and if any deficiencies are found, the matter will be reported to the MTO and drivers will NOT be allowed to leave until his account is rectified.
