REVISION AND FIXING OF ECONOMIC LIFE OF VEH/ EQPT/ PLANTS

The life of  Veh/Eqpt /Plants in BRO has been revised and twin life concept, Kms /Hrs run as well as the vintage has been adopted since May 2004 vide  BRDB letter No 02/236/ 98/BEA dated 25 May 2004 and HQ DGBR letter No 55041/Life V/E/P/ DGBR/24/ E4 Tech dated 31 May 2004.

Again, the economic life of newly/ recently inducted Veh/Eqpt /Plants in BRO has been fixed vide BRDB letter No: BRDB/ 02/28/BEA/2010(Part file) dated 24 Dec 2012 and HQ DGBR letter No 55041/Twin Life/ V/E/P/ DGBR/89/ E4 Techdated 28 Jan 2013.

Now once again the life of veh/ Eqpt/ Plants has been revised and fixed vide Govt of India, Min of Defence (BR Wing) letter No: MOD (BR) F.No.04/696/2015/D&P (BR-1) dated 11 Aug 2017 and HQ DGBR letter No 55041/Policy/Twin Life/DGBR/43/E4 Tech dated 16 Jun 2021 as per details given in Appendixes ‘A’ & ‘B’ below.  While considering the life in number of years the riding factor is “whichever is later” in case of Veh/ Eqpt/ Plants and “whichever is earlier” in case of snow equipments.

If any Veh/ Eqpt/ Plants is not able to complete its prescribed life, the same may be downgraded as per the provisions of MoD (D BR-I) letter No: BRDB/02/28/BEA/2010 dated 06 April 2017.
